Dear fans of the kibri brand!
This year the kibri brand will be 125 years old.
To mark this jubilee, we wish to take you on a journey into the past and the present and give an outlook on what the future has in store for the kibri brand!
First of all, we wish to say „Thank you“ that it is at all possible to celebrate this jubilee today in 2020 after such a changeful history.
Besides the manufacturers Trix, founded in 1838 and Märklin, founded in 1859, kibri is certainly the oldest renowned brand of accessory manufacturing in the model railway sector. This is a rarity and we are proud and happy that, in the more recent past, we have been an active part in this history.
We gladly look back on the beginnings of the kibri brand in 1895, first expositions in Lipsia in 1896, the sample book resp. the dealer’s catalogue No. 4 with already 32 article groups revolving around the subject of toys. Thanks to the untiring diligence of constructors, mould makers, tinsmiths and managing directors, legendary products such as the airship hangar between the two World Wars were created which still today are highly esteemed and much sought-after objects among collectors and modellers.
For 125 years, people at kibri have been putting a lot of efforts into the development, production and marketing of products with a special value added to them. For 125 years, company founders and staff have been using their creative ideas to develop prototypical models which enthuse fans and customers worldwide down to the present day.
For 125 years, catalogues have been printed, adverts taken out, visits to fairs organized, staff hired, prototypes created, new technologies implemented, jubilees celebrated, awards accepted and much more.
This year, we will offer 10 exclusive products in retro-packaging at jubilee prices in a limited edition. These selected articles represent milestones from the more recent kibri history such as the two-colour injection moulding process and the connection system which have facilitated the assembly of many kits. Furthermore, the first road and rail vehicles, highly true to the original as well as the first cranes were created under the motto „kibri has the particular“ which is still true today.
